The Sussex sound familiar? Yes, itÆs the same venue (in the basement bar) as last years meet up and can you believe they are willing to have us again. Okay, enough with catchy intros. London. Lots of Drink. EVE Gathering.
Date: Saturday, 8th April 2006
Venue: The Sussex, Covent Garden [MAP]
Time: 18:00-23:00 (later pending those new shiny closing laws)

Please note venue change.. we needed abit more room, the Hogshead is very Central London and serves food til 9pm, see you there.. most likely you will find large numbers of us drinking in the afternoon and then trying to make our way upstairs at 6pm for the gathering.

Nah dear I think that your okay there... mainly because anyone that whinged about silly little things would receive a personal beating from me.
Generally people turn up, start drink far too much too early... then start hugging everyone and then in most cases (usually old Sharks members) fall over

The majority of ppl who smacktalk you all day on the forums turn out to be as nice as pie when u meet them in person.

Okay, Any of the Airports will do really here is abit of info.
Healthrow (west london) Far out but the only one with connections directly to the underground (tube) which takes you down the piccidilly line... very centre of city. Aswell as taking in the Healthrow express
As for Standsted, its small and used for the internal EU flights mainly. You have two opinions getting into london, both take about 45 mins Stanstead Express Train or the slightly cheaper National Express bus
Then there is Gatwick Airport. Slightly larger than Stanstead in the southern area. Gatwick mainly connects up with a train that goes to Victoria or London Bridge.. I find it is the most relaxed route and the airport is just not as busy as the other two. Gatwick Express train

Update: Ah lovely news. Spent some time this afternoon at the venue w/ their management and I am really liking the size and layout of the upper funtion room (what we booked).
Seems there will be enough room, loads and loads of beers on tap and very reasonably priced food (if desired). The upstairs will have its own little bouncering setup for Eve gatherers only although your welcomed downstairs to the rest of the pub etc.
Aswell as gate camp the upstairs before the event if you like to have a meal with your corp mates.
Only other news, the Hoghead will be changing names in a months time and getting a face lift so if the topic location name changes dont worry its the same location.

As some of you asked if there will be any meeting up before the 1800 start time. Alliances/Corps are welcome to book tables on the ground floor of the Hogshead before the scheduled time if they like at Hogshead 020 7734 2493
Due to the large turn out its most likely that both the Upstairs (reserved) and the ground floor of the Hogshead will be camped with EVE Players

Things added so have a peek on page 1 of this thread. Have a look at booking a table on the ground floor if your having a large Corp/alliance turn out, if you like to go clubbing then get on a guest list and..... see you in April

Thanks to everyone that has signed up and is looking forward to the meet. There will be a large turn out and its advised for Aliiances/Corps with many members turning out to look into coming and camping a nice comfy table on the ground floor of the pub (because its coming to be packed that night). Although the upstairs is the offical booking it does seem likely that EVE will be crashing the entire venue and the downstairs has more seating, regardless... both floors have bars and bars have beer... so... See you then!

As for clubbing that night there will be a group going to the MEAN FIDDLER, Make sure you drop into ingame channel: London Meet for more details about late evening planning. There will be quite a turn out for this gathering and I do advise that large corporations call ahead and book a table on the ground floor at 020 7437 3335
The start time is 4pm in the private upstairs room, for comfort both floors will be used although Eve players the upstairs will fill quickly by early birds/tables on ground floor by large corporations.

Hello ladies and gents, only a few weeks to go til the meet and lovely to see so much interest.
The Plan
Saturday, April 8th
4pm: Hogshead. The Upstairs will be open for EVE players (welcome to grab a table on the ground floor anytime that day)
midnight: There are many clubs in the area. Here are the top ones
Metra This is the best choice if the beer is stopping you from walking too far. Its a Dance Club onlya stone throw from the venue.
Mean Fiddler ,short walk up to tottenham court road station and next to th best kabab place in london. Plays Rock and Metal.
Slimelight in Angel so you will have to get a bus or tube to get there. Goth Club
Next Morning Sunday 9th April
Noon: Loads of us stayin in hotels are heading to My Old Dutch in Holborn Pancake House, 131-132 High Holborn WC1V 6PS

Firstly, Thank you everyone for turning up, even the extra hundred and some that didnt signed up but popped out.
I am sorry for those of you that could not get in, the bouncers were alittle paniced at 7pm there was almost 300 upstairs and thank you so kindly to BOB, Salmiss and all the others that moved their parties downstairs to make more room.
I must say that I have never met such a nice group of people, of course I was worrying that everyone was having a good time and it was lovely to see that everyone's spirits were kept high even though it was a bit of a tight squeeze.
And... I would love to organize again, the response was amazing hitting over 350 eve players. Next time however with the agreement of everyone I think tickets miht be in order, only in the range of ú1 just for a larger venue...this time with broadband

As for another london meet, there is workings for another one dont worry. Although I am not a sea side baby like yous so if there are workings for a bbq camp out I would do all I can to help get the arrangements made however the main organizer would be the person at the locations, but as I said I am more than up for helping. The more meets the merrier.
